BTS Billboard “Are they have to serve national Army?” Issue in South Korea

The seven members of the K-pop group BTS, warded top the Billboard’s Hot 100 charts as the first South Korean. “Dynamite” was the song to put BTS, which recorded  more than 101 million people viewed in the first 24 hour from beloved their Army fans over the world. 

In South Korea, by law every man has to serve national army service before they turn into 35 years old. The duration of the armed forces is 18 months as part of a conscription system. However, there is an exemption from military service if they wind medals or granted to violinists, pianists and ballet performers for the country. 

So far in South Korea, there is no exception for K-pop stars. However, as BTS shows enormous effects on the country’s reputation over the world, the public keep showing the voice to the government’s consideration of exemptions for them.

South Korea government has announced any response to the consideration of the exemption yet. One of the BTS member Jin is the eldest member, ARMY fan are keep eyes on how government will show further reaction. As there is no any exemption for K-pop starts, the South Korea minister of culture, Park Yang-woo said that “It is difficult to refit the criteria of the selection in the popular culture and arts field’
